Objectives and functions

The Spanish Register of Osteopaths (ROE) exists to ensure quality, transparency, and ethics in the practice of osteopathy in our country, defending patients and protecting the profession. We are the national and international reference for Spanish osteopathy, recognised for professional excellence, ethical standards, and alignment with international standards of the profession.

1. Ensuring Professional Quality

We register only osteopaths who meet international standards of education and practice, defined by the WHO, the European Standard EN 16686:2015, and Osteopathy Europe.

2. Providing Trust and Safety to Society

We offer patients and the public a transparent, public register that makes it possible to identify qualified professionals and distinguish those who practice with rigor from unregulated practice.

3. Upholding Ethics and Good Practice

We promote the practice of osteopathy based on ethical principles, clinical responsibility, and respect for patients.

4. Defending and Promoting Osteopathy in Spain

We work towards the social and institutional recognition of the profession, support osteopaths in the absence of regulation, and contribute to its development within the healthcare field.

5. Representing Spanish Osteopathy Internationally

The ROE, as part of the Spanish Federation of Osteopaths (FOE), helps represent Spanish osteopathy at an international level. Through the FOE, we are the voice of Spanish osteopaths within Osteopathy Europe and global organisations linked to the WHO, allowing us to align osteopathy in Spain with international standards and access institutional support.

6. A Home for Osteopaths

A home for osteopaths that also provides protection and support for its members.
